The Spa Leisure Centre at Beckenham has won a national management award for effective financial performance from Sport England’s National Benchmarking Survey (NBS). The Spa was one of only five leisure centres nationally to be recognised in this way, and was honoured at a recent NBS conference at Bletchley Leisure Centre.
The National Benchmarking Survey annually assesses sports and leisure centres against 47 different measures including customer satisfaction, local community use, and financial efficiency. Whilst the Spa scored well in all areas, in finance it was a top performer with very low levels of subsidy and excellent cost control.
Mary Rose McMahon, General Manager of the Spa, said,
”It is great to have this award as recognition of the hard work of my team, and also reflecting the many new services that Bromley and Mytime have been able to invest in over the years. You don’t get financial success without having satisfied customers and I’d like to thank them for their continued loyalty and for saying nice things about us when we were surveyed!”
