123 swimmers completed an estimated combined 241 kilometres at Bromley swimming pools in support of the national Swimathon last Sunday in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. The youngest swimmer was 7 years old and the oldest an estimated 87 years young.
Sports clubs and organisations, youth and community groups can now apply for grants of up to £1,500 and can receive extra information and marketing materials to make their activities even more successful.
Over 1,500 local people turned out in force on Sunday 21 March at The Bromley Mile for Sport Relief Mile in Norman Park. The Spa Leisure Centre at Beckenham has won a national management award for effective financial performance from Sport England’s National Benchmarking Survey (NBS). The Spa was one of only five leisure centres nationally to be recognised in this way, and was honoured at a recent NBS conference at Bletchley Leisure Centre.
