Transforming the Pavilion Leisure Centre

The new Pavilion

Following a widespread consultation exercise about future improvements to the Pavilion Leisure Centre in Bromley, many hundreds of views and comments have been received from residents from across the Borough. Added to individual comments were responses from a street and telephone survey of a further 600+ representative sample of the Borough – with the overwhelming majority being overall in favour of the wide ranging improvements programme.

Results Summary

  • 93% of respondents supported the overall idea of improving the Pavilion
  • Most supportive are the age range 16 – 24 years
  • 97.8% were positive in this category, and also people who had used in the last month (96.8%)
  • Confirming its role as a popular leisure venue for the whole Borough, 90.4% had heard of the Pavilion, and 57.9% had used in the past. 27.9% had used in the past year, and 17.1% in the past 3 months
  • Reflecting its popularity with families 25.8% visit with friends, and 32% visit with (grand)children

Detailed results are now under discussion with Bromley Council and Mytime, and other partners, and will be subject to the usual planning and funding processes
