Street Art Murals


The project works with professional artists to design and create youth led street art pieces. The young people learn a number of different practical skills such as producing stencils, learning can control, shading and fading. They also explore different themes and work together to create their final design.


Mottingham Street/ Break Dance


Aaron Augustus, a professional dance tutor who manages Inspire Youth Dance Company and performs himself at a high level teaches the young people break and street dance. The young people also work towards regular performances.


Orpington Street/ Break Dance


2 dance tutors that both dance for a profession work at the Priory Sports Centre to teach a mix of street dance, hip hop, and break dance. The young people get the chance to work with professional dancers and produce their own dance videos as well as perform in large showcases.


Mottingham MCing/ DJing


PYE (Positive Youth Expression) are a specialist music organization that work with a group of young people at Castlecombe youth centre. The sessions involve Mcing, DJing, Lyric Writing, Singing, Music Production and the young people have the opportunity to record their own music and perform in musical showcases.


T-Shirt Design


Local artists work with a young people the opportunity to custom design and make their own T-shirts. The process starts at the drawing board with design idea’s, the young people then plan and finalise their design before creating stencils and printing their very own T-shirt.


Capoeria


‘Capoeira MarAzul’ worked with young people to teach this exciting Afro-Brazilian art form, Capoeira combines dance, martial arts and music to develop skills and enhance social, educational and cultural programmes using Capoeira as the vehicle.
