MOSS (Moving onto Secondary School)

The MOSS/Choice Project, run by the LB Bromley Children’s Fund, was set up to help children, young people and their families feel more prepared and confident about the transition from primary to secondary school. The project provides information, activities and support in consultation with children, young people, their families and schools. The service is then shaped around their suggestions.

The MOSS Project works mostly with children and young people in the last year of primary and the first year of secondary school. Based on consultation with these young people activities are developed for individual children, small groups and whole classes. These take place in schools, family homes or other places throughout the year, in curriculum time, after school and during school holidays.

Mytime is one of the main providers for MOSS working with the coordinators at the Children’s Fund to create a wide range of bespoke arts projects for this initiative. Projects have included film-making and animation workshops, yearbooks and leavers showcases. This year we are running activities at six Bromley schools as part of the initiative which also offers support and advice for parents/carers.
