Mike Delaney, Director and Head Coach of the Skills Academy, Bromley Mytimes Football in the Community partner appeared on BBC 1 today showcasing the high quality football sessions available for young people in the Borough of Bromley. On the programme, the session highlighted the excitement that participating in Futsal can give young people. This version of the game is played with a smaller sized ball, and different shaped goals allowing a footballer to develop good ball control and mastery of skills. This version of the game is extremely popular in Brazil, where many of today’s top Brazilian players used this game to develop into the players they are today. Futsal sessions currently run at the Pavilion Leisure Centre on Fridays at 7.00pm-8.30pm, these sessions focus on developing ball skills and playing the version of the game ‘futsal’.
