In recognition of Bromley's successful 3rd place at the 2009 Balfour Beatty London Youth Games, Mytime hosted a celebration evening at The Mayor’s Parlour. The event co-ordinated by the Sports Development Unit was organised to thank team managers, talented young sports people and parents for their hard work and commitment to the 2009 Games. Team representatives turned out in force and enjoyed talking to the Mayor of Bromley, Councillor Douglas Auld about their sporting achievements and future aspirations.

The London Youth Games offers competitive opportunities for participants of varying abilities and experience and has been a stepping stone in the careers of international and Olympic athletes. Previous athletes include Linford Christie, Steve Backley and Luol Deng as well as two of Great Britain's gold medallists at Beijing 2008 Mark Hunter and Christine Ohuruogu.
