A lucky young footballer was awarded a Skills Academy t-shirt, signed by Frank Lampard, Arjen Robben and Damien Duff on Saturday 26 April. James Lydall, pictured, was presented the prize by Mike Delaney, Director of the Skills Academy, who is also a world famous football freestyler.
James attended a 2-day Skills Academy holiday camp at Darrick Wood Sports Centre over the April Holiday and was therefore entered into the free prize draw along with over 200 young players aged between 6 and 11years.
Courses were delivered throughout Bromley at several Bromley Mytime leisure centres. Participants got to practice all the core techniques of football including dribbling, shooting, passing, heading and lots of fun football games. Afternoons were generally dominated with mini Euro 2008 tournament matches. Medals and trophies were awarded to the most improved players and winners of the final tournaments and challenges. All participants received Skills Academy certificates.
Mike Delaney said, “All the young boys and girls that attended the courses during April seemed to be having a really great time - they learned some new skills and also made some new friends and the top prize up for grabs went to a fantastic young player - I hope James is pleased with his new signed shirt”.
The Skills Academy deliver coaching courses at most Bromley Mytime leisure centres during school term time – “The Skill Factor”, during the holidays and every Saturday morning – “Soccer Saturday”.
