Chelsea star visits Biggin Hill

29 May 2008

Darwin FC with Paul Elliott

Players and officials at Biggin Hill Football Club were visited recently by ex-Chelsea and Celtic star Paul Elliott MBE. As Patron of Bromley Mytime who manage the training pitches at Darwin Sports Centre, Paul was on hand to award the local club a certificate and plaque celebrating their achievement of gaining the FA’s Charter Development Certificate. Darwin FC received a grant from Bromley Mytime encouraging the development of girls’ football.

This is the best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League. As a benchmark for quality, it improves the playing experience for all and helps ensure everyone is safely looked after and gets the best from their football.

Giving the awards Paul Elliott, Patron of Bromey Mytime, said, “It’s great to see young footballers encouraged at Biggin Hill and Darwin FC is setting the standard for good club organisation for boys and girls. I congratulate them for their successful season and hope they continue to go from strength to strength.”

Darwin FC Club secretary Ros MacMahon said, ”We’re very grateful to Mytime for their support and advice and their grant really helped us develop football for girls. The young players really enjoyed meeting Paul and with the support of all the parents and officials we’re looking forward to next season.”
