Bromley Mytime are committed to creating opportunities for everyone to enjoy an active lifestyle. Following consultation with service users two buddy programmes have been put in place to support and sustain particular focus groups accessing mytime services.
The gym buddy programme targets people with a disability wishing to use the gym on a weekly basis. Volunteer Buddies will be required to commit to a regular time slot each week in order to help individuals overcome barriers currently preventing participation in physical activity.
Primetime buddies have been recruited to encourage participation to our over 60s brand Primetime. With a full programme of classes, sports activities and social events for this age group Primetime Buddies need to be able to attend Primetime sessions, be physically active and promote and encourage others in this age group to do the same.
Buddies will act as mentors, offering support and encouragement as well as being a source of information and a friendly welcoming face for new people.
