BROMLEY BADMINTON PERFORMANCE CENTRE

Orpington Junior Badminton Club (OJs) and Park Langley have been successful in their joint application to Badminton England and have been awarded Performance Centre status.

Performance Centres are being created across England in order to generate a hub of badminton activity for players and coaches to progress within the sport to achieve their full potential. Bromley is the only Performance Centre in Kent to achieve this prestigious status and is one of only 15 in England at present.

Bromley Mytime supported OJs through a Club Development Grant scheme awarding a sum of £1217 which has played a significant role in the development of the Performance Centre. The grant will be utilised to subsidise the cost of Performance Pathway classes aimed at offering high-quality coaching to talented young players displaying outstanding potential in badminton. Additionally, the funding will be used to establish both adult coaching and coaching for disabled badminton players in the local area over the next year.

The investment in the Performance Centre by Badminton England is considerable - £30,000 over the next 3 years. This funding allowed OJs and Park Langley to provide the environment and opportunities needed, so that the best young players can be encouraged to progress up through the ranks at club, county and international level. One of the aims of Badminton England is to make England the world’s No. 1 playing nation by 2016.

The pivotal role that Performance Centres will play includes linking with schools and other clubs in the local community to identify talented youngsters and to offer them a quality environment that develops not only players, but also coaches, officials and volunteers.

Terms And Conditions

Please note before applying for a booking with Mytime you have to agree to abide by the following terms and conditions. If you agree with them please click “Accept” below and enter your Membership details before securing your booking.

1. General Confirmation of booking/checking-in

All online bookings are confirmed by the issuing of a booking confirmation direct to your nominated email address
A booking confirmation will only be issued subject to receipt of payment or if the activity is included in your membership package
Please bring the booking confirmation with you when you attend the centre for your booked activity
All bookings are made in the name of a specified individual as set out on the booking confirmation. Proof of identity may be required.
All hirers must report to reception on arrival
Bookings are non-transferable and non-refundable
Application for a booking does not guarantee any such booking and Mytime reserves the right to withdraw booking privileges subject to its discretion

2. Set Up Times

The booking time covers the period of use including up to 5 minutes setting up and up to 5 minutes clearing away of facilities relating to any booking.

3. Conditions of Use

All hires and bookings are made subject to the Terms and Conditions of Use that may apply from time to time. These are available from reception and displayed at the Leisure Centres, and are also issued with any membership.
If a Member fails to use the service according to the centre byelaws membership and booking rights may be terminated without notice.

4. Cancellation

Confirmed bookings are subject to the cancellation policy of the centre.

5. Non-attendance

To be fair to everyone, Members who fail to attend for their booking will be expected to pay the standard facility rate. This is subject to the centres’ local terms and conditions, and the cancellation policy available at the centre.
