Bromley Athlete represents Great Britain at The Paralympic Games

15 September 2008

Stephanie King

Following Bromley's winning success at the 2008 London Youth Games, the Greater London Authority (GLA) selected one Bromley competitor to attend the opening ceremony at the Paralympics Games in Beijing. Stephanie King, a member of the Bromley swimming squad was selected after an outstanding performance in the Youth Games Swimming Gala.

Stephanie, a member of Beckenham Swimming Club will be taking part in The Torch relay which includes lighting the flame in the Olympic Stadium with 4 other young people from around the country symbolising the start of The Paralympic Games.

The opportunity to be involved in such a prestigious event has come at an ideal time for the young swimmer and it’s hoped that following the Beijing experience, Stephanie will be even more determined to reach her personal goals of achieving international success.
